Andrew Davie, LGPC
Therapist
Andrew was born, raised, and completed schooling in New York City. It was in New Orleans where he received a BA in theater. Initially pursuing a writing career in New York, Andrew also worked as a recruiter, office manager for a theater company, sell-side stockbroker, and options trader. Andrew has a Master’s in creative writing in which he has had the opportunity to teach English at the middle, high school, and college levels, for students with learning differences. Andrew has also taught English abroad in Macau and Hong Kong to students who spoke English as a second language.
In 2018, Andrew had a ruptured brain aneurysm. It was then that he decided to become a clinical mental health counselor. Andrew looks to bring an existential/narrative approach to support clients in recovering from and navigating difficult life transitions. As he was finishing his studies to become a counselor, Andrew became a caregiver for his mother before she passed away from ALS. While Andrew can provide specific insight into brain injury recovery and caregiving, he believes that the same perspective has universal applications.
